19th D.I.C.E. AWARDS CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
FROM VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY AT LARGE

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), the video games industry’s professional trade organization representing 33,000-plus development and creative membership of the video game industry, has opened submissions for the 19th D.I.C.E. Awards (#DICEAwards). The most renowned peer-based honors for the video game industry, the D.I.C.E. Awards ceremony will take place the evening of Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at Mandalay Bay Hotel Convention Hall. The awards show will close the 2016 D.I.C.E. Summit (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain), a three-day gathering of the gaming industry’s executive leadership that will explore the magical and sometimes elusive “Art of Engagement.”

Game of the Year, Genre and Craft categories total 23 awards, which are the industry’s highest form of peer recognition and are announced live before an audience of industry luminaries and nominees. The evening culminates with the announcement of the Academy’s top honor, Game of the Year (GOTY), celebrating a single title that resonates as the best of the year’s many great accomplishments. Previous Game of the Year winners includes: Dragon Age: Inquisition (2015), The Last of Us (2014), Journey (2013) and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2012).

To be eligible for submission, a game must have been released to the public between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2015 (except for Online Game of the Year, which celebrates the online gameplay experiences past their initial release due to excellent developer support through the significant addition of new and exciting content). Deadline for submission is December 1st.
